Electronic Artists

Wafaa Bilal

Wafaa Bilal's childhood in Iraq was inlfuenced by the rule of Saddam Hussein, two wars, a bloody uprising, and time spent living within chaotic refugee camps in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Bilal eventually made it to the U.S. and become a professor of Photography and Imaging at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and a artist that has exhibited his art worldwide. But when his brother was killed at a U.S. checkpoint in 2005, he decided to use his art to confront those in the comfort zone with the realities of life in a conflict zone.

All of Bilil's work is seen as breathtaking and sharply political. His work 'Domestic Tension' is an interective performance piece where he lived in a prison cell sized room for a month, in the line of fire of a remote-controlled paintball gun and a camera that connected him to internet viewers around the world where viewers could shoot at him 24/7. Video documentation of this work can be seen at mewafaa's Channel on YouTube.

Heres a couple of my photography images that i scanned in to prove i can use a scanner hehe

Fenster - The Free Software Song

What is Free Software??
Saftware that can be used, modified and studied without restriction. and which can be copied and redistributed.

5 Free Software Programmes:
#iTunes - Digital Media Player, can store, play and buy music, videos etc
#Limewire - File sharing application for music, video, pictures, games and text.
#AVG Anti-Virus, Free Edition - An anti-virus protection tool
#WinRar - An archiver and archiver manager
#Photoscape - a photo editer, can edit, combine, animate, print, color and resize etc.

This is a funny vid I found on YouTube that has a catchy lesson in it about Free Software.

I found it in Ucumari's Photostream at www.flickr.com/photos/ucumari/

Flickr

Wow milestone ive finally just opened a Flickr account and uploaded my first image! A photo of a little animal that took my fancy at Orana Park when I visited there a couple months ago...not sure why I chose to upload this photo first, was just one of the first ones that caught my eye on my camera. I like it because it is a very clear photo, focused well and at an interesting composition with the animal. You can almost sense what the animal is thinking and as he gazes into the distance, we gaze straight back at him. I chose to create a flickr account because it has gained quite a reputation as being a good site but I have not had alot to do with it myself so I thought it would be interesting to play around with.
